chrisl Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Is Java Green paint an original ford colour?, I know ford did a Java Blue but no one in any spray shops that I have asked have ever heard of Ford Java Green. Anyway the reason I am asking is cause i need an aerosol can of Java Green paint, I do not know the paint code and cant find anyone who stocks that colour! I have asked Twinkle and he thinks he might be able to get me some but failing that I need some other options. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers

chrisl Posted February 1, 2010 Author Report Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks dude, need to do some touching up here and there and urgently need to get hold of the paint!
Mexico Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Im sure it was a colour for the RS2000 Mk2 ?? Hmmm
rsdaz Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 yes java green is definately a ford colour it came on mk2 escort rs2000's. sorry i dont no the paint code though.
In The Pit Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Java Green is a Ford colour it came out in 1980 and was available on all Escort & Fiesta models (inc. Esc. RS2000) I cant find a Ford code for the paint but I have found a paint code for it there are two listed XSC1379A & XSC1379. Some motor factors no longer carry the information for these old colours so go to the oldest motor factor in your area and if the computer doesnt throw up a formula then ask them to check any old books they have. I hope this is the answer your looking for.
chrisl Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 thanks guys for all the help an info. Right I have just phoned up halfords, I spoke to a very helpful guy and he checked the paint system for me and they have the codes to make up Java Green, under code XCS1379. He said that the code relates to a Ford Transit. I might get him to make me one up and hopefully its a good match but I have had experiences with halfords mixed paints before and they have been s**t. What does everyone else think?
mk3tina Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 well i think with the situation that you are in, anything is worth a try, whats the price for 1 can to try out? cant be more than a fiver for an aerosol can.
SAMMYBOY Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Im awaiting a call back from our Paint supplier for the code.....I`ll post it up when he gets back to me....
chrisl Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 for Halfords to mix up the paint is £11.99, I have phoned around a few other places and they are about the same price to mix the paint up using that code! Thanks Sammyboy, let me know what code you are given!
SAMMYBOY Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Yip....Java is xsc1379.....It works out about £30 a litre...I would say a family size car, i would use about 3 litres for outside and in....I was on asking about Sebring red...Still wondering if it suits a Mk2....
chrisl Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks Sammyboy, I only need the paint for touch ups, just hope it matches when i get it made up, halfords are gonna make me some up!! fingers crossed!! Thanks for your help

Nicks53 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 I know this isn't Java Green but it saves opening another topic; anyone know what colour the car in this photo would be?
