well i might just use it for the summer then but no way in the winter and it will have to be bone stock(engine wise)... time to sell a few things ,then i might just get it ready for the cf show?!

I dont know about your choice of words "idiots" as I dont personal feel I'm an idiot for driving my car every day.

 

I feel proud I dont own a saxo or 206 and that I take mine to show knowing that I've driven it feely day in day out rather than keeping locked up just to make sure it does get scratched or wet.

i wasnt refering to people that drive their OSFs daily, i was talking about the fookin idiots on the road that are simply dangerous. bein a lorry driver i see it day in day out, some of the manovers people pull are just scary. its your car dude, drive it when u want but i wont be using mine everyday. if thats ok with u?

removing rotor arm is another good one

 

got a tip regarding HT lead

 

 

if your going to use it and going to remove ht lead do this

 

1. take a spare ht lead

2. make a small cut down the lead

3. cut the wire inside

4. insulate them from eachother with insulation tape

5. glue the cut down lead perfectly back

 

now when you take you ht lead of put the dummy one on as robbers are now taking spare rotor arms and ht leads just in case they have been removed if they pop the bonnet and you have put dummy one on they will think it broken down and will probably walk cus thay wont risk the time.

oh yeah i use a disk lock on my steering wheel

 

my mk2 escort was nicked off my drive with immobiliser on and a crook lock on the steering wheel.

 

the police said they probally got behind the crook lock and took the steering wheel off.

 

so choose a good source of locks!

Actually, if you do take it out and about, you go someway to breaking up the routine of your car being in the same place everyday, which means only the opportunists are likely to have a go. I'm guessing the opportunists are less likely to come prepared like organised blaggers (with boltcutters/flatbeds, etc.)

 

Thoughts anyone?

i had my mk2 as a first car and it was great during summer. winter it broke down, froze up and rotted like fook so i bought a volvo 240 estate to run.

 

 

Id rather drive summat crap as a daily then ruin my escort...heck Id even drive a saxo if it came to it

Just use it mate........It's a shame to have a nice car and not get out and enjoy it whenever you can.

 

Security wise, I use a stop lock and, if I'm leaving it for any time, or in a dodgy area, I remove the HT lead

 

Your car could just as easily be nicked from the driveway/garage.....

 

For just one example......I drove into London last week to go clubbing. Left the car on a side road, by London Bridge, for 7 hours (9pm-4am) and it was still there when I came back.

 

Was the club call SE1,my eldest son has been to this club a few times.
