Cortina H Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 This idea is at the planning stage but i need some idea on the level of interest. The Classic Touring Car Racing Club is holding a two day race event at Lydden Hill Circuit (near Canterbury, Kent) 17th and 18th July, see their website for details (classictouringcars). Spend some time looking at their website, it is very good. I have discussed with them the idea of having a static display of classic cars, all models not just Ford's. There is the possibility of selective cars taking part in a parade lap each day during the lunchtime breaks. The allocated area may be divided into club areas or just one big display area, that's yet to be decided. At the moment i am trying to gauge the level of interest, so please list on here whether you would wish to go Saturday, Sunday or both days, and what car you would have. There may be reduced entrance fee, but again details will be sorted later. I will give clubs the opportunity of organising their own members once i have some idea on numbers.
4-Door Pete Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Fantastic! I went last year on the Saturday and it was a brilliant day. Lots of Old Skool Fords giving it the beans on track. The noise made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Lydden is a great circuit and the atmosphere in the paddock is great and the drivers were happy to stop and have a chat. A display area is a great idea. Count me in for one of the days. Probably the Sunday.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 22, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 22, 2010 sounds very interesting .... let us know when you have more details Oh, and welcome to the forum
