well good news, cleaned up the oil from around the holes, put in new plugs and she fired up ok. Timed it properly with a strobe, and shes running sweet. Much faster than the 1.6 I had, been hard work and stressfull but well worth the work

got a long list of jobs to do, they are all small ones, only big thing is to fit an electric fan and should be ok for sunday

 

only mistake I made was I forgot to remove the vaccum pipe off the fizzy when I timed it up. Seems to run fine and its fast, but I might double check the timing with the pipe off
