Cossy sump in mk1 escort?

Hi everyone does anyone know if i can just use a worldcup crossmember and cut it back and use a 2wd cossy sump? with out getting it big winged

Not usually mate. I had problems with mine when i was turbo'ing it.

 

Apparently, the best route to go down (other than chassis mounting) is to use the R.A.C.E X-member and cut the lip back etc.

 

The other x-members just wont give the clearance.

 

R.A.C.E advertise in classic ford but dont have a website.

thanks mate for the help so if i get a R.A.C.E Xmember i can just cut the lip back and wont need to big wing the sump?

I can't say for sure 100% mate but it seems that a few people have.

Thanks for the help mate i might just go that route and cut the lip back of the crossmember i should have the engine in in a few days so ill see how she looks

If it doesnt fit, i recommend that the engine is chassis mounted.
