deltamal Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Princess 4 pot's fitted with green stuff pads, the anti squeak shims still have tension in them, took them out before the Classic Ford show and roughed up the faces, then put some graphite based anti squeal fluid on, they are now squealing again! any ideas appreciated!
MR "S" Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Hi Mal,just check the friction material is not slightly lifting. That could be the cause!! Have seen this before, but not with green stuff pads. worth a try.
Tom Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 oh mate i know what you mean, but my pads clunk up and down in the caliper. Fooking sounds like the wheels are loose!!! I modified the standard width pad springs (the ones under the securing pins) and it seems to have done the trick
deltamal Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 Thanks for the input guy's, been looking around lots of forums, and the squeal problem seems to be with the greenstuf pads in Princess calipers, Mintex 1144 pads (apparantly) cure the noise, I will also give the shims a tweak, will post again with the resault!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted June 16, 2010 Admin Report Posted June 16, 2010 I have also heard that green stuff pads are prone to squealing
Pipster007 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 I have also heard that green stuff pads are prone to squealing Supergrass. That could help with squealers
