any idea what would cause an engine to lock?

I have been messing around with the little monkey bike, it has no spark, so been sat with the plug against the engine, prodding on the kick start and also using the electric start. All of a sudden the engine has appeared to go solid, I cant move the kick starter and the electric start wont spin. It hasnt been running so cant see why anything would have failed. I aint got a clue, any ideas?

could be something stupid like the wrong plug had a ped in the other day guy changed the plug and then the engine locked up he put the wrong plug in and it made contact with the piston as it was to long

the plug was out, still on the lead earthed on the engine trying to sort a faulty spark

I put a chain back on the bike, and rolled it back a touch and the engine is moving again, although now it appears to be stuck in gear
:banghead: it never ends

yry rocking the bike forward and backwards while selecting gear, bikes do this alot. if you have a stand rock the back wheel and select gear. the dogs in the gearbox mite be hitting eachother. worth a go. also if its been stood for a while the clutch plated will take some freeing off so may seam stuck in gear if this is the case. good luck pal
