Oil leak

Last weekend I changed the oil on the Capri and ive recently noticed oilmarks where i was parked. I popped the hood and found its leaking from the oil filter. I smeared it with oil before tightening it and it is not loose, any ideas what the problem could be?

you could have a faulty filter ive known it before or sometimes when you take the old one off the o ring stays on the block and youve put the new one on top of it , . have you cleaned it all off and watched where its coming from ?

may have a slight tear in the seal or the seal from the old filter may have stayed on the filter housing on the engine (but that usually pours out to be fair)!

looks like i'll have to dig in the trashcan to see if the seal is with the old filter

its coming from where you screw the filter in

i changed the filter again last wkend but its still leaking, i'll jack it up again today clean everywhere and try to see where its leaking from exactly.

Same happened to mine leaking down the filter. Still happening now I'm going to clean and check it too!

Well, it is leaking from the oil pump and dripping down the filter, but apparently it was also leaking from the sump plug, which was why i was leaving puddles everywhere... some plumbing tape did it
