Superblue76 Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 To the guys and girls that have bought cars in from Malta, how do you get them over? (ferry/truck?) and what sort of costs are involved? Do you have to pay import tax too? ( how much? ) I'm after a project mk1 escort for circa 3k but all the cars for sale seem to be in Malta Any help would be appreciated
Posse Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 I wouldn't bother m8 there just as expensive over there now. I brought mine back and another one £600 each no import payed as there in the EU now. hope that helps.
Savvi Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 I bought my estate from a guy who was bringing them over on a transporter, about 6 at a time. Some of the ads on ebay are saying they can ship them for you for about £400 which is similar price as i was told from the seller of mine. I think you pay duty when you go to register onto uk plates, but i've not done that yet.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted July 30, 2010 Admin Report Posted July 30, 2010 The lovely people of Malta are gettting wise to the fact that us British folk are after their cars and the prices have shot right up over there
turnover Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 as Jo an posse said they have become expensive unless your in the right place at the right time, usually between 500 to 650 eu by truck takes 3 days no duty to pay ,good luck with your 3k
