Savvi Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Can anyone help with advise on the new rules in planning ? I went to look at a property today and was told that the laws have now changed and it's possbile to build a single storey without neededing planning ? I'm wanting to see if we can extend a bungalow and build a big workshop in the garden next to a quiet road with the nearest house at least 10 metres away ?
garyv6100e Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 I would advise that you contact your local planning department as different councils interprit the rules differently , a conversation is always free and at least you know where you stand
Savvi Posted September 5, 2010 Author Report Posted September 5, 2010 Thanks I had thought of that wondered if we haven't bought it yet they may not be able to advise me ?
Savvi Posted September 5, 2010 Author Report Posted September 5, 2010 This is an areial view of the house and another showing what i'd like to do ?
oddball Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Have you looked on the local councils website?
marky4 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 if your extension meets certain requirement for can apply for a ticket of lawfulness instead of planning and just get on with it but each council is differant so best to speak to someone in planning first i applied for planning for a loft conversion and they turned it down re applied for a ticket of lawfulness and looks like i'm going to get it how the fook does that work
