yalnif09 Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Hi all, I'm Chris and I'm from the Gatwick area. I wanted an Old Skool Ford but budget limited to a 1985 Mk2 1.0l Fiesta Popular. Now a classic, but not quite 'Old Skool'. How did I come about buying this car? Right, so I have needed a run about that won't see much use but needs to be there when needed, budget of £500, be old, offically classed as a classic and be ready to get in and drive. As a kid (and now) I always wanted a Mk1 or Mk2 Escort. Closest I ever got was a Mk2 I had for racing at Layhams Farm. Still want 1 but they go up in price not down Anyway the Fez is in good nik and short term plans are banded steels (if I ever find some), lower it and tidy the body up. Cheers Chris

yalnif09 Posted September 12, 2010 Author Report Posted September 12, 2010 Cheers guys. Only done a little browsing and there sure is alot of inspiration on here. Makes me want an escort even more! Will put all my effort into this project 1st as if I can't make a good job of this I don't deserve an escort. Maybe for my 30th next year Chris
over_head_cam Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Welcome m8. Did you manage to come along to the Summer Show?
yalnif09 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Welcome m8. Did you manage to come along to the Summer Show? Well I popped by 'literally', just drove in and out on the way past as had a full schedule. What a turn out!! Gutted I didn't have an hour or so to spare. Was met with a couple of MK1+2 Escorts leaving sideways, which was nice. Engine upgrades in the Fez are a looooong way off but I've never had a car with 'proper' carbs so after hearing them today I'm thinking they would suit the car Chris.
