Daveyboy20 Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 on every rotation of the wheel, the tyre makes a funny rubbery 'squashy noise'. I took it off and there is no visible sign of damage, anyone know what it is and if its dangerous? Just wanna be sure to be safe!
Daveyboy20 Posted January 13, 2007 Author Report Posted January 13, 2007 Anyone know? im off on a long journey tomorrow and wanna be sure its safe!
Wessie Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 you got the tyres on the right way round? sounds stupid but check the rotation is correct, could there be anything inside the tyre? any of the expanable foam shite?
Daveyboy20 Posted January 13, 2007 Author Report Posted January 13, 2007 No i dont think so coz its been fine and the rotation is ok, its not a really loud disconcerting noise but its definately audable...
Wessie Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 cant help you there m8 , try posting in OSF chat
louie bagel Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 what make of tyres are you using ? if they've got rim protector edges on (rim protection is just the tyre moulding around the edge of the rim sticks out a bit so you don't damage your wheels if you hit a kerb) because they can rub against the wheel and give you a noize like your describing, try spraying some silicone solution around the edges and give that ago or if that don't work go to your local tyre company and get them to bust the beads clean and re-soap the tyre
Daveyboy20 Posted January 13, 2007 Author Report Posted January 13, 2007 Yeah it could be that they do have rim protectors on them... Is it dangerous? Or just an anoying noise?
dangerousdave Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Not a flat spot on the tyre is it? I've had that before. Sometimes the tyre isn't perfectly round especially if you have braked hard and locked up. Why not take it to kwik fit for a look cos they do a free inspection?

I agree, sounds like it could be a flat spot, but wouldnt go to kwikfit, you`ll need a whole set of 5 tyres, brakes and a battery if you go in there...o, forgot, and an exhaust... Other thing it could be is a part of the rubber delaminating .depending what type of tyres u have...
