keeh Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Howdo. I'm looking into a pre x/flow conversion on my 1300 x/flow. I have no clue on what combination of parts to use to keep a reasonable compression ratio. I am aware that there are 1300 pre x/flow engines somewhere that had been used in cortinas, anybody got the internals? i have some 1100 rods which work out 4.85mm longer than my 1300 rods. I want to try do this without having any machining done on my block to keep costs down, i'm on a tight budget. I'll need around 33cc's of combustion chamber to keep around 11.1 CR with a 1330 engine. any help will be appreciated, I know of a 1500gt head nearby and also been offered a 997 head off here. ta Kee
keeh Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Anybody confirm for me? I think, using 1100 rods with pre x/flow pistons will do it, but the pistons may need shaving a couple of mm to fit perfect. Im buying a 1500gt head tomorrow, owner thinks the chambers are around 30+cc but can't check as there are no valves. If the pre x/flow pistons are 41.65mm height against the x/flow 44.75 then the 1100 rods will make the difference up plus more which is why the pistons will need shaving. will give me a nice light piston and as such a nice revvy engine if anybody can help me out here
Fiesta Steve Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Sounds like you know what you doing to me
