Great interior, I had a 1600GT many years ago, I bought it for the engine to stick in a mk 2 Escort and scrapped the rest of the car (feel guilty about it now)- all except the wood dash and trim that still reside in my garage, been there for 20 years!!! along with a lonely Mk 1 Mexico badge!

How did you get on with the capri leafs and the anti tramp bars, did you end up keeping them or go back to cortina springs?

I posted a message on the thread i started about capri single leafs but never got to find out!!

So it was a case of out wiv the 1500GT and in wiv a 1660 fresh build pre x-flow

Its got a period modded stage 3 head with steel gear a x flow block decked to take pre x flow head

A2 cam duplex gear lightened, balanced twin 40's etc etc.... Changed diff for a 3.77 too and a 1 0 5 speed system and manifold I also used the old stylie rid accelerator lincage as I wanted it to look like it was modded back in the day!!

It's fairly torquey as well as being quite 'normal' to drive around town...

Accelerating in 4th from 50 up to double that speed takes moments....( although a bit arse clenching due to steering box)

So apart from a nightmare local rolling road set up its going ok....!

I'm hoping to get someone to set it up properly early next year

I luv the sound of the twin 40's and it's fun puttin more modern stuff to shame..

Recently acquired some superlights too which look the nuts on it....

Today I had the interior bio brisked and a 'fogg it' done to try and reduce the musty old car smell where it was locked away for 10 years previously.....

Now I know it all 'works' I can save up to get the new wings fitted and hopefully if I can find one a front valence then strip back for a full respray ......

But in the mean time I can't stop driving it......
