Posse Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 I have a type 9 5 speed in my car and have done for 5 years now perfect for road and a bit of acceleration if you fit a 4 4 or a 4 1 diff But if you are going to fit a 5 speed I recommend fitting a bigger tunnel as it makes life easier. bortaf Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 The 2.0 (cortina and RS2000) 4 speed box (type E) uses the exact same first 4 ratios as the type 9 so makes no differance to accel at all, the type 2 and 3 ( Xflow escort and 1.6 pinto) have closer ratios though Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
