grifterkid Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I am a huge Old Skool Ford fan and I love them all but I have to admit my softest spot is for the old Mk1 and Mk2 Granada...! I own a 1977 Mk1 3.0 Ghia and I think it is a cracker of an old car... What I want to know though is when are we going to see more of these old beasts on the pages of your superb magazine...?! I know that there aren't many left now (thanks banger boys!!!) but surely that should give you good people more of a push to get some of these rare old motors in your publication...?! When they were new the Granada was at the top of the Ford hierachy, now it seems they have been all but forgotten...! Just incase you've forgotten how good these old beasts look here's mine...
lotusless Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 i see in the latest issue they have a resto'd 3.0s granny next month
xrt_si Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I adore Mk1 Granadas, got a real soft spot for them. As stated there's a mint and very rare Mk1 coming up int he next issue as it happens
Justmark Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 loking at the pictures above i might be tempted not to race anymore but they were the tool to use. would be nice to see a few survive but the problem you may have is that if the surving ones are shown more theres more chance of them going to the tracks now that they are running out.
Monkfish Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Surely there's less chance if popularity increases and more people want to save them? As is the case with old Fords, increased popularity leads to increased prices and, while that may be a bad thing for someone wanting to pick up a good honest project at an affordable price, it means they're less likely to be snaffled by the banger boys on the cheap. Hopefully they'll then stick to cheaper modern tat that, rather than being rare like a nice old Granny, is easier to pick up than a questionable rash.
