DAZZA Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 ..... winter time upgrades and rebuilds can be a struggle sometimes. Where do you get that bit of inspiration from to do what you need to do? I find a heavy dose of American Hot Rod Episodes, a flick through the Restoration Section and maybe learning how do something new, followed by a few mates coming round and slagging off my lack of progress helps..... ...... discuss!
4parajon Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I really enjoy American Hot Rod. The fab work is awesome, wonder if its available as a boxset?? Shame they wont be making anymore. I watched a bit of that Chop Cut Rebuilds (think thats whats it called anyway) and it was'nt anywhere as near as good in terms of showing the audience how the cars are put together.
surrey_100e Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 tell me about it Dazza! but like you said doing something new will make it all pay off in the end Must catch up soon

SebringRS Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 American Hot Rod, Custom My Ride, A Car is Born and sometime Wheeler Dealers give me ideas and tips The only problem with American Hot Rod, lets face it, Who would wanna work for Boyd (RIP)?? Absolute genius and all, but he does have some sort of timing crisis every episode, with things not done on time and rushing around yelling at people

A little here and there is what you said down the workshop last night mate...it does work coz i only do a little at a time. What does help though is having mates willing to pitch in and help, Cheers for that! As for inspiration, nothing like seeing everyone out and about in there old fords....or driving one of your mates/relatives Pity your working on Monday eh i think you need a project before you need inspiration and enthusiasm though matey

285Andy Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 i usually get a real kick out of doing my own cars. as i work on other people's cars all day, every day it can seriously drain your enthusiasm, espesially when your fixing rust for 8 hours straight for days/weeks at a time!! so really i dont need much encouragment to do work on my own cars for a change
