Well thought i'd better update the progress of my ride,

 

got the 2.4 in last year and gracked the block! eventually took it out last week and started the strip down.

 

got a std 2.0 going back in via a re-build, new bearings, rings, gaskets ect.ect.

Crank oil seal poped out before leaving for Cumbria!

 

block cracked a little after Cumbria!

just kept putting K seal in to stop the leak

intresting 2.4 looks like a standard crank?. the new rods look cool but look shorter then the standard rods and the big end i/d looks smaller then the standard rod

christ mate, you say your on the 7th engine in how long

2.4's a cast crank, offset ground balanced, steel rods, forged pistons and block has 94.5mm bore & been decked by 3.5mm to get the pistons back to the top. still runs ok but spits a bit of water out now and then.

 

gonna hope to get it welded or may go for a new 207 block

 

No. 1 was a 2.1 i took out for the re-build, smoked

 

No. 2 was a 2.1 grasstrack special engine pro built, local rolling road f**cked up and left the rocker post's unlocked. valve 1 said hi to piston. (500 miles)

 

no 3. spare 2.0 engine, lasted a little (heave right foot)

 

no 4. Ebay special (just started smoking after a few months)

 

no 5. Another 2.1 i got cheap, had a laugh took it out for the 2.4

 

no 6. the 2.4

 

no 7. a brought std 2.0 being built up while i sort out the 2.4???

 

would you count no 8 as the 2.4 re-built?? or would that count as no 6b.
