mk1estate Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Just sold my mk1 4 door escort, got a phone call at around 730pm and some bloke who i couldnt really understand asks me if i still have the escort for sell, i said yes so he said his on his way to see it, then he asks where is East Sussex !!!! he didnt ask any questions about the car just told me he is on his way. When i got home at around 820pm i called him back and said is it really worth you comming to look at it in the dark so he said he would buy a torch on his way !!! anyway to cut a long story short he turned up at around midnight and when i asked where he came from he said SCOTLAND but had to pick his brother up who wanted the car from MANCHESTER !!!! anyway he didnt have a torch so i lent him a tiny wind up one and in the end he bought the car, i got top money as i knew he didnt want to go back empty handed lol. But would you really travel all that way for a near standard mk1 escort 4 door?. Funny thing is that he was not into OSFs he even asked me if he could fit a TURBO on it lol. He didnt have a trailer or anything just paid up and then drove it back to manchester
morcheen Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 now that's what i call proper old skool.turn up after driving miles pay up and drive off. i remember my mate sold a dolly sprint that had been off the road for a few years.the buyer came from ireland and drove it to the boat and home !! at least he bought it
