LUKE261 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 to physically race on swaffham, my home track was my favorite!! ipswich is my favorite for spectating, especially hot rod world final alwalton peterboro, was the fastest i have ever raced on, faster than hednesford!!!
Wessie Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 im liking wimbo cos of the facilitys and the follow ins ! i dont mind ringwood either
kms Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I think it all depands on what your doing - if your racing or spectating and what formulas it is. The banger world cup at Cowdie is an awsome experience and so is the World final at Wimbledon. Any Hot Rod formula round Ipswich is good and Stock cars has got to be on the shale - Lynn or Mildenhall. Hednesford is a quick track but it holds bad if not painful memories for us! Swaffham - I wouldn't mind it but it's always bloody freezing there - even in the middle of summer! Don't think I've got a worst track - not all that keen on Buxton though.
jim Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I dont dislike any tracks I have been to over 30 now dirt, shale, tarmac its all good enough for a crash.I guess it all depends what you go to watch with bangers there is much better choice than with say hot rods where Hednesford and my local Ipswich are top tracks.Ive only raced at a couple of tracks, but some of the best to watch at for me are Wimbledon for the world final,Mendips because its such a weird place,Smallfield when they got more cars out,Smeatharpe great atmosphere and action and Mildenhall because you always know you will get proper banger racing there every meeting!
Daggle Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Can't beat Ipswich in the 80's, getting sunburnt watchin the World Final!!! Wimbledon was good as well, easy for me to get to.
dogdish Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 Fave tracks..... Speed(racing).......Alwalton,Peterborough (much missed) Atmosphere.........Ipswich and Wisbech (again missed) Watching.......Yarmouth,Ipswich and Newton Abbott (once again....missed) Worst tracks Hated Birmingham Wheels.Northampton was always a hard track for my cars til one day we softened the damn thing right up and i got 2 second places.
mk1escortmad Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 I like all tracks for different reasons Wimbo and Yarmouth - mmmm post and wires! Mildenhall - Turnout and atmosphere, never dissapoints Ipswich - Hotrods
dogdish Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Always found your local (Arena) very good.Even did some RTS events towards the end of my racing with a Starlet (steel crossflow,2 speed ,kevlar panles, etc.)
teamtom Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 best track for good old stockcar racing has gotta be Alington near eastbourne. Small, skinny and fast. Real good fun to spectate there too as your stand just feet away from the track.
dogdish Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 And watch out for flying Roy Eatons!!! (Superstock World 1988 )
iron_mighty07 Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Despite it being the venue where I started racing(in an XR3 of all things) it would have to be the long defunct Scunthorpe track). Great location, dreadful track towards the end - Huge potholes on the exit to turn four! Favourite Track - Sheffield - Only raced there once(in a reliant!) rough pits but cool arena.
dogdish Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Used to race with Ray Watkins. He owned a garage in Scunthorpe area and also a Motor Caravan rentals company.
