SebringRS Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Never realized until now that it was given to him by ford, as he worked for them, worked for them in Essex and also when the new place was opened in Daventry, My dad, grandma and grandad got moved down to Warwickshire to work there Got put up by Ford for think it was about 6 months, until they found there own place (any chance of that happening nowadays??) Anyway, this has been in my family for ages, stood in my grandma' dining room for about 20 odd years, then when she passed away a few years back, we have had it in our living room. And only a minute ago when i went to wind it back up (yes it still works ) did i notice what was engraved on the bottom It says incase you can't see: "H.T.Inskip. In appreciation of 30 years loyal service: June 1982"
Mrs O/H/C Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Wow .. that's quite impressive, nice to have something in appreciation for all the loyal service. Make sure you keep it in the family
Trevmk3 Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 thats nice, cant believe you've only just noticed the engraving
