msymes Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Hi Guys Was having a look though the May 2011 issue of Retro Ford (yes we are a little behind in Australia) and noticed some RS 4 spokes that are 7.5x13" and was wondering if anyone has fitted these to a Mk 2 Escort with standard arches. If so how much a arch modifications were needed and what tyres are you running. If anybody has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated... Michael
mk1rob Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 They can be put on mk2s: Sorry but i dont know whats needed to fit them exactly. Looks like 175/50/13 tyres and I think some arch rolling at least
mk2 matt Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 yue has had the rear arches pulled out about 20mm but unless you look at two cars side by side you wont notice this one has had the lip rolled up and 10mm machined off the back of the wheels
MK2Ed Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 yue has had the rear arches pulled out about 20mm but unless you look at two cars side by side you wont noticethis one has had the lip rolled up and 10mm machined off the back of the wheels Who did the work mate?
mk2 matt Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 yue was done in the late 80s by a lad called jarod knight who runs oak tree bodyworks in paignton I did the blue one
mk1mexico Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 They look like only 7J in the second pic of the blue one?
whitey Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 I put some on a mk2 escort estate. The inner lip needs either cutting out or bashing up,flattening and then pull the arch out if you want to take people in the back or if there are lots of speed bumps around : )with skinny tires they fit ok but unless the car is lowered about 2 inches the front arch gap can look horrendously big.It did look quite nice from the front with the tires trying to escape the arch's.
msymes Posted June 25, 2011 Author Report Posted June 25, 2011 Yeah I think this is probably one to do later on when I have a bit more time and money... Haha Looks awesome though
