The powers at be decided that this special Escort would be out of Terry's league had it been reality. There was no way that someone like Terry, ex con, working for Arthur's wages (lol), would be able to afford one of these cars. So at the time, the Capri was a hit with the younger male drivers from all sorts of backgrounds, so they gave him the Mk2 Capri instead and put the Escort on the car front. Apparently, Dennis Waterman who played Terry, can never remember driving the Mk2 Capri I am full of useless information
