This could be a fruitless request but im trying to get info and most importantly pictures of a certain car.

A very good mate of mine called me today and wanted to know if i had or could get pictures of this Mk1 Escort - LVX 947J.

Reason being his mate has just purchased the old girl and she is in a very sorry state, but wants to restore her to her former glory !

Basicaly 947J was never rallied, unlike 941 + 942j etc, She was used as a recce car for only a few rallies then converted into a Track/race car.

The later is what she will be restored to but we desperately need any pictures of what she looked like in her hay day !! Prefferably in colour but not essential.

oh and before you start, No i dont have any pictures .... yet

The photo was taken from a Graham Robson book called Boreham, but that is the only photo of it in there. But in another book ive got called the Works Escorts there is a bit of info on the car and where it raced.

Some of the info is as follows

Monza- finished 3rd

Salzburgring- finished 7th

Brno- finished 5th

Nurburgring- Retired

Spa 24hrs finished 26th

Brands Hatch- 5th

Hope this is of some help to your mate and see if you can get some photos of it on here, keep us all posted.
