105Nick Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Pulled into my local garage on Saturday, normally its closed when I get home from work but you get the idea, its a proper old english filling station which has just had a revamp as they've moved from two sites to one but it used to be owned by the old boy and his sons who are in charge now used to go to school with my dad who once worked there, the type with pumps hanging out onto the side of the road, even when I was a kid it was just a few pumps and a shed, but anyway, their old tow truck was a 1942 chevy army truck that was formerly used to tow bombs to B17s in the war, it got replaced by a Bedford in the seventies and sat out back ever since and was in pretty good nick considering. Anyway I always asked about it cos it looked sorry but they said they'd never sell it, and they were right; asked them about it and they said they'd scrapped it 60 years old and it was a rare 4-wheeler, what's wrong with these people!
Gonzo Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I dunno. some people are just too stupid for their own good. or bitter. I've heard of several vehicles that have ended up being scrapped because the owners were too stupid to sell them, or they didn't want anyone else to have it.
Rick Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 you should have pestered til they cracked. worked for me. theres a lot of idiots like that by me
escortmad79 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Find out where they took it for scrap, it may still be sat in a yard somewhere
