bullittcraig Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Need to buy a rear light lens for an Escort Mk2 saloon. Can anyone advise the best place to get them which will fit properly as i`ve heard that some copy lenses are poor fitment. Thanks.

PaulMags Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 All the ones that are made today are shite,there only good for rally cars.there either smaller or warpped.your better of looking for a decent second hand one thats gen.I did have a few but i'd have to have a look through my stock.

It amazes me how the pattern lenses fitted perfect back in the 80's, and now the chinese cant get it right 30 years later

wetandwindy3 Posted January 10, 2012 Report Posted January 10, 2012 i bought a set of pattern ones and they were like a bannana,got a pair of ford ones were slightly better binned got a second pair of ford ones fitted really well my mate got pattern ones and fitted really good so i think theres a bit of luck involved aswell

turnover Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 ok had a look got 2 new ones well there old but never fitted made in italy,and were the same as i had on my cossack car have 2 complete light units and lenses these were from hadrian panels back in the day still in the boxes but have a bit of light overspray on them wax polish and will come off and 2 genuine ford ones used ones good the others ok but orange part has some like cracks in it but not in the plastic weird
