mk2 mike Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Have done it again! Despite the snow and ice on the ground and the freezing -3 temperatures, they ventured into deepest darkest Essex to sort out the electrical problems on my motor. I posted before about 2 fuses blowing when I switch on the sidelights (viewtopic.php?f=60&t=132834). After a bit of interior dismantling and wire tracing it turned out the sidelight bulb holders had corroded on BOTH headlights and the wires were shorting out on either side, blowing both the fuses simultaneously. Who'd have thought they could both fail at the same time? My money was on the headlight stalk being at fault but I guess thats why I don't repair cars for a living After a quick replacement with some new headlamps the problem was fixed and I have a car with working (and shiny fresh looking )lights again Colin also did a bit of investigation into a problem with the electric boot release, and Joe did a quick job on the beemer while he was here. I've said it before but I'll say it again. If you need work doing and dont have a clue where to start yourself, I can highly recommend Ashton mobile. Cheers guys
