ive been watching the forum for a while now and i must say there are some very nice cars on here.

anyway i thought id chuck up a few pics of my mk2 escorts

my first one is a 1980 2 door 1600. i found this one up north of south Australia. its very dry up there and as a result the car had absolute zero rust. even behind the c pillar trims and boot there was still factory paint.

plan for this one was to turn it into a track car to do some club racing. i started working on it just over 2 years ago and worked on it when i had time. last week it started for the first time. just needs a run in and tune.

this is the first time ive built up a car like this so its all been a big learning curve.

when i got the car

stripping the car to get the cage installed

then it was on to painting the car. i had never done this before and its defiantly no award winner but it does the job.

next was rebuilding the motor

after that it was time for some new suspension/brakes up front

fitted the motor and got a new hoist in the shed

after that it was time to do the interior

getting the seat in

and all back together

finally a video of its first startup

next is my 78 mk2 4 door. i saw this one come up for sale cheap as the owner was moving overseas and the engine wasnt running. the owner was saying it was a ecu but i took an educated guess it wasnt and got it cheap. turns out it was just a sensor failing. the car needs some work but its a complete car and running now. thing is scary fast too.

cheers lads.

im from south australia. about the weather, the day before the last show i entered (last pic of the blue car)it was 40deg c. nice and fun cleaning the car. luckily it was a nice 32 or so on the day of the show.

havent been on here for a long time.

bit of a thread revival.

the green 2 door ive been doing the odd event. have changed the fuel setup and ignition as i was having grief with surging and then misfiring.

the blue 4 door. i have replaced engines with a newer sr20det from and s15. im also in the progress of getting a new rear end built so i can run 8's on the back.

anyway bit of a picture dump.
