ZARtina Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Howzit petrosexuals? Just a post to introduce myself and to, hopefully, make contact with other blue oval classic nutters from South Africa. I'm 27 and currently working on my second MkII 'Tina, a '69 Delux. My previous 'Tina was also a '69, a stock 1600 Super auto. I built up from a bucket of bolts that I picked up from a bloke in the neighbourhood who had completely stripped it and tucked away the usable parts in his garage. It had been sitting in his yard for about fifteen years after a carburetor leaking petrol onto a cracked distributor cap set the engine bay alight in spectacular fashion on the highway apparently. I actually stumbled upon it after years of wondering what was under a sheet of black plastic. I always wanted a two door though so when I saw this one online I begged and borrowed to get it into my garage. Though I'm struggling to find all the right period and scrapyard bits to replace and uprate the standard ones I still take her out on a fortnightly Sunday burn into the countryside.
