carter-199 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 were is the best place to get a set of silicone hoses for my mk2 escort crossflow and also a set of engine mounts
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 6, 2012 Admin Report Posted April 6, 2012 For a nice quality set of hoses I would go to either Samco or SFS Performance There are plenty of other places as well but some of them are low grade silicone and will not last so long
carter-199 Posted April 6, 2012 Author Report Posted April 6, 2012 Cheers yeah I can't really find nothing for mine all the kits seem to be for the pintos
Synergy Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 I'm not saying this is or is not the place to buy them but here is an X/Flow kit. http://www.burtonpower.com/parts-by-cat ... black.html
gearbox100 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 They also do they here, http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_in ... s_id=14468 No idea of quality but fits crossflow , i`m sure jo will know more on the quality of them.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 7, 2012 Admin Report Posted April 7, 2012 Rally Design is the cheaper grade silicone but it will do the job
carter-199 Posted April 8, 2012 Author Report Posted April 8, 2012 That kit is for mk1 Mexico or are they the same
Mr2Caps Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 Rally Design is the cheaper grade silicone but it will do the job Do you know what grade silicone it is? Only you don't want to have to have a fight with the Government in a few years to have them taken out again.......
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 10, 2012 Admin Report Posted April 10, 2012 With regard to the government regulations, all silicones available in this country will be absolutely fine and will meet rules and regs no problem at all (rules are very strict in that respect) ... the cheaper grade general purpose silicones and the premium grade general purpose silicones (which these products are made from) are like comparing HP baked beans with Tesco blue stripe baked beans (sorry Ali - I know you like them ) - they both do the same job but one is more "watered" down than the other. If price is important, go for the Rally Design hoses - they will do the job Hope that helps
Davewrc Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 No good for me as the top hose is the wrong shape for a crossflow for a big header tank radiator
