Col-ashtonmobile Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 Mr2caps dropped his carb & starter off off for us to sort out for him, carb does,nt look to bad from the outside , spindle seems ok , starter is well grubby though , stripped the carb, but disaster as one of the choke flap spindle screw decided to shear off , so i had to drill it out to remove the flap, rendering the spindle unservicable and only fit for the bin , so replacement spindle needed, after fully cleaned, service kit ready to be installed and carb refitted to cleaned inlet manifold now to strip the starter but solenoid screws completely seized then the body screw snapped , this starter is not going to be worth repairing so we are going to supply him with one of our new units which will carry a years warranty, we can supply exchange starters and alternators all at very good prices for osf members and all carry a years warranty ..
