mk2 mike Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Dropped my car off at Ashton HQ recently for a few bits and pieces. I had a binding caliper and despite my best efforts to un-bind it it kept sticking again after a few uses. Having looked at it Colin decided my calipers were ready for the bin. Think this pic shows how grim they were! Colin knew of some 2.8i calipers going spare from another project and saved me a few quid by grabbing them for me While the car was with Colin and Joe, i took the chance to get some other bits done I'd had on my 'to do' list for some time, so more grotty bits removed- And now my engine bay has gone from this- to this- The boys removed the old servo and carb, wired in the fuel pump and regulator, fitted the twin 40s and set them up, fitted a new master cylinder and reservoir and plumbed them in all in, as well as modding the throttle pedal for the twin cables in no time at all, and all for a VERY reasonable price Still got some tidying up to do in the bay but its definately looking so much better than it did. Car drives so much better too. Havent stopped smiling since I got it back Colin also took the time to chat about having an engine built in the future and gave me some useful advice to help me decide what to go for. I've said it before but you can't go wrong with the service from Col and Joe. If you need anything doing your car will be in safe hands! Thanks guys
Tall paul Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Looks very tidy now mike, all you need is one of the big mass style exhaust manifolds Nice one mate
mk2 mike Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 Cheers lads. New sexy exhaust manifold is next on the cards. Need to move the washer bottle, the alarm siren and tidy some wiring as well as paint under the bonnet, but it's getting there.... slowly
