ste j mk1 Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 just had my new toy delivered, its a fully restored mk2 estate 1980v 1.1 base model and its a beaut! 32,000 miles on her, i plan on lowering it 2" all round and some 7x13 jbw polished 4 spokes, although the exhaust hangs very low and only just goes in my garage due to slope upto it. but for now i'll just enjoy using it, just need to tax it, passed mot with no probs and insurance was only £89 fully comp! heres a few pics
damagecontrol Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Damn nice vehicle - I have never seen any MK2 estates in SA, only the MK1's Congrats with the purchase
FBF Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Slam it, s14 lump, stretched rubber on decent rims. Really like that
banarama Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 cracking estate mate,so original, id keep it that way.
ste j mk1 Posted May 17, 2012 Author Report Posted May 17, 2012 yes i'm in 2 minds weather to mod it or not, i've bought a 2" lowering kit but got issues getting it in the garage if i lower it

ste j mk1 Posted May 18, 2012 Author Report Posted May 18, 2012 wow was this the car from e bay? looks so nice just so rare to see them origanal like that id leave it be et much more attention i think No it wasnt from eBay, I know what you mean about been too good to mod but that's what I bought it for to tinker with
ste j mk1 Posted May 19, 2012 Author Report Posted May 19, 2012 gave her a full buff and polish today came up mint, was'nt bad in the first place but was a pleasure to clean, been a valeter for 25 years and the satisfaction from cleaning a nice car is great! pics ar'nt the best off my phone but i will take some more with the i pad when i get her out next.
Savvi Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 Very nice, think id be keeping it standard although i have the same dilema with my mk2 ghia, part of me wants to mod it then i look around and you just dont find a nice standard untouched anymore. Good luck with your decision, looks a minter.
ste j mk1 Posted May 19, 2012 Author Report Posted May 19, 2012 think i'm keeping it standard, might just change the 155 80 tyres for 185 60's i've put my new -2" lowering kit and capri recaros in for sale section, will leave it as is for now.
ste j mk1 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Report Posted May 23, 2012 went to work in it today, got some attention, drives like a dream felt good cruising in the sun
grifterkid Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 That is gorgeous in every way sir...! You really do need to resist the temptation to severely mod' this beauty...
ste j mk1 Posted May 24, 2012 Author Report Posted May 24, 2012 yes i'm not modding it now, just fit a cd player in it tonight as it did'nt have anything in it at all, found a biffo parcel shelf speaker on ebay what will fit on shelf under dash so i don't have to butcher anything fitting speakers
