djstaffy Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 As above need to get front panel for my new project Thanks Djstaffy
Toby Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 The owners club mate. If you go on their site you can see what's available and order on-line. http://www.mk1cortina.com/ They do lower sections and repair section for the ends if that helps? It's a great club, but they struggle getting help off their members so if you do order stuff from them, remember DO NOT COMPLAIN about service You might be pushing someone past their voluntary limit! They can be a bit slow on dispatch but they're worth the wait.
MK2Ed Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Have you ordered yours yet Toby and got the car back on the road...
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 The reason that they can be a bit slow is that they ALL have full time jobs, so have limited time to deal with club issues/ orders etc. so if you are patient the go ahead and order. To aid your order please submit your membership number as you have to be a member to purchase parts.
Toby Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Have you ordered yours yet Toby and got the car back on the road... I have mate. Give me a year or so!

Mrs O/H/C Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 I didn't think you were but was just stating how the club is run so everyone is aware of a possible wait for parts etc
Escort Rs Mad Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Give Colin Ginn a try at Prestige Coachworks, very good for Mk1 Cortina panels.

Toby Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 I didn't think you were but was just stating how the club is run so everyone is aware of a possible wait for parts etc I knew you knew - you and Andy were involved for a little while - did it get too much? I don't know where the people that do help find the time - I really meant it when I said I think they're heros. There have been some amazingly dedicated people in the club and from the sounds of things, people used to moan at them for being slow or whatever - no wonder they got to the point where they'd had enough!
MK2Ed Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Have you ordered yours yet Toby and got the car back on the road... I have mate. Give me a year or so! That soon? Good stuff, we look forward to seeing it in a galaxy far far away
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Andy and I were involved for a few years before actually joining the committee , but I have to say although we were considered to be "young blood" and was assured our ideas etc were to be considered that alas did not happen and there was a particular member of committee was not polite, helpful in any form and to be honest we felt that we were banging our heads against a brick wall. There was an incident at the National Rally last year in which police and ambulance services had to be called. Unfortunately we were expected to deal with all of this on our own with NO help from the others. It was a very traumatic evening and therefore decided that being a commuter member was not for us. There is constant gripe that members of the club SHOULD offer time and commitment at all times and no consideration that those members may have other commitments if their own. So l in all we did not agree with their ethics , shame really as it tainted what we felt for the club .

So l in all we did not agree with their ethics , shame really as it tainted what we felt for the club . That is a real shame. I didn't hear anything about the National brawl! Wow were there pensioners beating each other up? With fragile bones they should know better! I feel guilty for not offering to help with the Club administration but I always have too much to do without that. To be fair to the club it wasn't as if people were queuing up to help so maybe shaming was the only way to get help? It's a shame you felt you had had enough. Their loss!
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 It's all part of life , sometimes no matter what offer of help there is its not enough. Don't get me wrong I'm not slating the club as I truly believe its a godsend to Mk1 Owners. And for your information it was a visiting club that caused the upset
