mk2 granada boot lid

Sorry if this in the wrong place but new to all this, does anyone know why my boot lid will not stay open is there spouse to be a spring to make it stay open thanks Keith

what year is the car ? they have torsion bars under the rear shelf in the boot check they are adjusted properly ,does it have a spoiler fitted?

The rods have clips on them ,move the clips along first and also check the spolier isnt full of water as they get older they act like a sponge
