Anyone for an Old Skool Ford club stand at Crystal Palace Motorsport in the Park 26th 27th May 2013?

It is an excellent event and if you are booked in for a club stand you get in for FREE.

Each club stand has an area for 5 cars and a 3x3m gazebo so max number is 5 cars per day. Different cars each day is perfect that is really the way it should work so it gives 10 members of the club the chance to attend.

So perhaps we could recreate a starting grid of 1967 / 1968 when the British Saloon Car Championship held a round at Crystal Palace when it was a proper racing circuit. That would be Anglia, Cortina Mk1 or 2, Escort Mk1, Falcon and Mustang Coupe / Notchback. Preferably ones with no body mods (apart from the Mk1 Escort which raced with bubble arches). Ideally a maroon Anglia (the Broadspeed colour) and Lotus Cortinas and a red and gold Alan Mann tribute Mk1 Escort, but that would just be a dream!!

This post is to judge whether there is sufficient interest. Some details of what you would be commuting to:

Entrance to park from 07.30am

All exhibitors to be in place and ready for the public from 08.30am

Stay until the competitive event has finished.

First sprint practice starts 9.00am

Full details http://motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/

Entry for one show car to include driver and one passenger is free. Additional tickets are £10.00 per person per day or £8.00 in advance cheque made payable to Motorsport At The Palace LTD

The organizers are collecting on behalf of St Christopher’s Hospice and Royal London Society for the Blind if you would like to donate to these charities.

All forms to be returned by 03/05/2013. Successful applicants will be advised of their entry by email, tickets and detailed instructions will be posted 1 week prior to the event.

Time to get a little more realistic I guess. Rather than try and match the sixties grid specifically. So I have the Falcon Sprint (its in this years calendar as well)we can get a Mustang. So Anglia's, Cortina Mk1/2 (non Lotus) Mk1 Escorts not necessarily RS's or Twin Cams all welcome. Lets have some good Old Skool Cars. You don't have to do both days.

It is a fun event you are close to the action. The paddock is fully open to wander around. There are other club displays and you and a passenger get in for free(that's £20 saved). Catering on site as well.
