72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I have got my practical test this Friday (9th Feb) at 11.10AM got a double lesson tomorrow and a single lesson right before the test So ive just got my fingers crossed now
antz Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 good luck!!!!! hope you pass so then you can get out in the escort! and remember a 1100 still drifts! (only in the wet though )
72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Yep i hope i pass to just the damn reverse around the corner that i find a bit tricky but i should be okay if i take my time Im sure i can get the MK1 going sideways if i cant me Dad will show me hes had plenty of practice with all the MK1's hes had in his life time
mk2_escort_chick Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Good luck buddy! If u pass it's such a great feeling- I've only been driving 3 months and its brill. But...if you dont. Nevermind. Book it up again and give it another go! Once again- best of luck
72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Thanks alot i should be okay as long as i keep my cool I find the left reverse around the corner a bit tricky as i cant really see over the rear headrests as im a bit short My instructor is going to try and take em out on my lesson tomorrow
antz Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 reverse round the corner was my best move as for drifting find a nice quiet place to have a play and get the basics it will slide and after about 2 weeks youll want mroe power! then you drop a 1300 in
mk2_escort_chick Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 It was all about the 3 point turn and bay park Got both of em on my test- I was like "yeah"!!!
72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Oh i thought you always had to do reverse around the corner. Just read up and they can choose two of the following: 1.reverse around corner 2.Parrellel Park 3.3 Point Turn So if i am really lucky then i might not even get the reverse around the corner
flyingbanana Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 just keep carm and relax ...dont panic from other motrists...just take your time without taking to much time has they can do yu either way if you take to long......apart from that good luck
Smudger105e Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Nooooo, they apparently perm any few froma few more, three point turn (I knowe it's not called that any more, but I couldn't be bothered to write turning in the road using forward and reverse gears) parallel parking, reversing round a corner etc etc. Don't do them all. Keep your fingers crossed!! lol
72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Yep deffo fingers crossed and thanks for all of the encouragment
mk2_escort_chick Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 It'll be 2 of the following: parallel park left reverse turn in the road bay park (left or right) emergency stop Like I said earlier I had a bay park and a turn in the road.
antz Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 when i was learning i always did left bay parks cos thats how the test centre was set out THEN they changed it 2 weeks before my test to a right bay park! i had a bay park and reverse round a corner. got 5 minors and 1 major cos i 'cut up a mini' that was so far up my arse it was his fault and i didnt cut him up. second time i had emergency stop, parallel park and reverse round corner. i stalled teh car too! got 10minors and passed good luck!!!! fingers crossed 4 ya! (dont drive with crossed finegrs though )
flyingbanana Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 been along time since i did my car test ...did my lorry lience 2 years ago...completely different type of test and then when we went out eneded up going down counrty lanes i hadnt been taken on in the pratic runs...think he tried to catch me out found out after they had stopped using that route ...but i still passed
mk2_escort_chick Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Passed 1st time- 1 minor! Yes I am a jammy git And I had the chief examiner doris that everyone hates- she loved me And NO I didnt wear a low cut top...just in case I got a male examiner
72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 As long as i dont get the reverse round the corner im pretty sure i will pass fingers crossed ey Gona get some more practice in tomorrow as i ve got a 2 hour lesson so im gona take the rear head rests out and have a go at the reverse round the corner
72mk1escort Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 I will tell you all the result on Fri as soon as i can
72mk1escort Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 I failed Two serious faults cus of some W***KER in a bt van aiming it at me when i had right of way and they tried to say i wasnt doing my observations (when i was!)The other serious fault was when some plonka had parked with like 3 foot of a blind corner I had an examiner supervising the examiner who i had so i had two people in the car with me so there was no chance of being let off of anything Bit one good thing is there was only 7 faults all together I am not going to be put off and im gona put straight back in for it Also does anyone know if west wickam is a good test centre because thats where i took my test Everyone seems to think that it is the best one around my area
Wessie Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 unlucky m8, but u know what to do right next time
72mk1escort Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 Yep i guess so just a real gutter
antz Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 sorry to hear that! i failed my first test cos i was between a morrisons lorry and a mini on the roundabout. lorry takes rojundabout wide and mini right up my arse. nuffin i could do about it but somehow i cut the mini up according my examiner with too much aftershave. PUT IN FOR IT AGAIN AND YOULL DO FINE! least you know what to expect
72mk1escort Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 Yep no use crying over spilt milk i guess but i would like to bump into the examiner somewhere
