  1. After having a look around I think that's the route I'm going to take. I will see if they can make one with a little extra length to fill the extra roof space in the van an build the rest.
  2. Thanks Scott, I have just been looking at the custom cages site and looking at the ones on ebay. I just dont know wether to buy an all out multi point cage and built of it or just buy a basic cage and make the rest to suit what ever I need later on.
  3. Just a quicky, Im looking for a roll cage for the Mk2 van. This may sound daft but will the cages from a car fit a van and from what I understand the mk1 and 2 vans are the same from the A piller back so will I be looking for a Mk1 cage. Im looking for a pretty comprehensive cage as the van is not the most structurally sound and I intend to pick up off the cage and build some sort of space frame. Any advice on to where to start looking for said cage would be appriciated. I have seen some on Ebay which dont look to bad but just wanted to explore other options.
  4. Unfortunately I had to pay for it but for £142 it was pretty much free. I gave it a little hose down before. I will hopefully get it down to the unit this next week and start on it soon.
  5. Hopefully one or two may remember me but its been a few years! Im Owen and hail from the sunny shores of Morecambe. I had a Mk1 Jelly mould for a couple of years until it was written off due to some clot running in the back of me. I then went all jap (like one or two on here) and had 4 imprezas knocking around. I have since sold 3 of them and made a little room for another project. I did have a Cortina P100 which due to personal reasons it had to go so that was sold to a mush over in Prague, Something which I still regret doing. Anywho I have been on the hunt for another project which leads me here. I work in a scrap yard in Preston and at the begining of the week some bloke decided to weigh in this. I am now the proud owner of a 1978 M2 van So no doubt I will start lurking around and I will be on the cadge for bits and bobs and looking to be pointed in the right direction. No doubt I will keep you posted on progres. Owen.

  19. I think its a good way of getting a fair idea of the sort of power your mates car is pushing out. Like "I have just bought a saphire cosworth and it putting out 230BHP". Pretty standard car, were as "I have just bought a saphire cosworth and its producing 500BHP". But as braging rights I think its just the round ones. At the end of the day it only maters at the lights Im not a power junky, I have always found that with power come a lot of ball ache and hassle. If my car can over take wagons on the motorway than Im happy
