mk2 mike Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I reckon this has probably been covered a hundred times but I can't find it in here or on google. Does anyone have a list of part numbers to identify which type 9 is from what? I've bought a type 9 that is supposed to be from a 2.8 (longer shaft, funny bellhousing) but I've recently read its quote common for people to put the v6 bellhousing into a transit diesel box (which also has the longer shaft) and pass it off for the sought after 2.8 box. I'd like to check what mine is before it all gets converted. I've read some guides about looking for 3 bolts behind the bellhousing which the 2.8 should have and the diesel won't but I've also read this isn't always the case. I've also read about the tipex thing on the shaft but I was wondering if anyone had a list of part numbers? It'd be so much easier to check that way what my box came from. Cheers.
katana Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Just put it in first and 1 revolution of the output shaft should equal 3.09 revs of the input - easy!
