Fiesta Steve Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Rye Bay Drag Racing, Harbour Road, Rye, East Sussex. £10 all day, racing every other Sunday. Santa Pod it is not, it's a short concrete strip with little run off. Could be a cheap way to do some testing though.
frankthefencer Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Yes!! Looks ok for testing!!!
brettp Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Resilt the pods and pain to get to from southend
Fiesta Steve Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 Rye is about 30 or 40 minutes from J10 M20
buzzard Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 the mk5 Cortina in the pic is my mates alex. he has now broken the gearbox . I think he has been going there to much . lol
w p e Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 is it 1320 ft / 1/4 mile. or shorter?
frankthefencer Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 I would like it to be a full 1/4 as it would be nice to go there and practice gear shifting.
Fiesta Steve Posted September 22, 2013 Author Report Posted September 22, 2013 Deffo no more than an 1/8th I'm afraid..
buzzard Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 from what alex said its just under a 8th . but hopeing to make it longer for next year , plus if all goes to plan all in door to ????????? .
Fiesta Steve Posted September 23, 2013 Author Report Posted September 23, 2013 Indoor could happen as they are racing on what was the remains of a massive warehouse that burned down a couple of years ago. Run off looks short though !!
Fiesta Steve Posted September 23, 2013 Author Report Posted September 23, 2013 I would like it to be a full 1/4 as it would be nice to go there and practice gear shifting. Gear shifting is easy to practice on the road and probably the easiest part of drag racing. For me it would be nice to practice launching.
