Ok so I know you need to narrow the rear axle or fit an anglia axle on the rear etc but what about the front? How do you get the front wheels sitting right?

Do you just need adjustable bottom arms or do you need  accentric top mounts too? And what affect does all this have on the antiroll bar? Or do you need to scrap the antiroll bar and use compression struts? Or is it a lot more complicated than that??

It all seems like black magic to me!!

WPE has narrowed my back axle so can fit the 7.5 RS rims I love the look of them I put 175/50 tyres on them and they fitted on the front just WPE was gonna narrow the front so the track was the same front to rear but them tyres on the rims ruined the handling of the car I don't like the look of 185/60 that WPE keep telling me to fit, you will need adjustable top mounts and the mounts hole for the TCA will need to be move inboard WPE was gonna do all this for me cos I don't know anything about it mate hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply  yeh that makes sense to just move the bottom arm mount holes on the crossmember, i guess thats doing the same job as adjustable arms?  Do you know if i can still use the antiroll bar then or will that throw the suspension geometry out? Are you gonna stick with the 175/50/13's then? Your car looks stunning on them by the way!

The antiroll bar would have to stay on cos its part of the suspension, I have taken the wheels off my mex cos it drives so bad with them fitted on I drive a lot on the lanes and the car jumps all over the road with them fitted, I am putting 4 spoke revs on now i'm gutted cos I love them wheels I've had them over 15 yrs.

I had to ditch the antiroll bar and fit compression struts, fitted adjustable top mounts and adjustable Tca that were modified to get the wheel tucked right under the arch, and shortened the steering rack and track rods. All works well with know steering issues and the wheels don't rub

That's kinda what mod's i expected to have to do, it seems that people go about it in many different ways? Some seem to have it easy like mk2 matt?

just roll the rear arches no other mods required

heres mine

That's really interesting Matt because my mk2 has factory rolled arches which will have more clearance than standard ones rolled i imagine? What size tyres are you using? Are they 175 50's? Does your's drive ok on them??

I saw the pic's of yours on revo's and i thought they suited it really well, or how about trying 195 55 13's on your 7.5's? They are hard to find but standard fit on renault 5 GT Turbo's so you could maybe just find a 2nd hand set of wheels with them fitted??

175 50s was lowered 2 inches but could not have anyone in the back. 1 3/4 at mo and can have one in the back in the center

Don't understand why you would change the front suspension as x packs have the same set up as a 2000? I know an rs runs slightly different camber to a standard escort due to the different x member but that should'nt make much difference

X packs have a body kit fitted to the car so the wheels fit.
