Mk2 Escort stolen from near to Knockhill, Fife sometime in January 2014. The car is a rough shell painted mostly in red primer. The car is an automatic 2 door so has a larger transmission tunnel. The shell has excessive rust on the drivers side rear pillar & is also holed along the full length of the rear quarter window. The car has a full rollcage fitted which is painted white & fitted with yellow & blue ROLLCENTRE stickers (The passenger side one was significantly faded). The car had a yellow bootlid with a rubber spoiler. Both rear arches have been replaced The car had no glass, lights, interior or engine fitted but was fitted with an aftermarket aerial in the middle of the roof, just behind the front windscreen which will stand out. The car was fitted with 3 steel wheels & 1 RS alloy which was painted yellow.

Trying to establish exactly where it was stolen from & when & whether it was in the same condition.

It was parked on someones driveway when it was taken, not in the location shown

my first thought was ... the scrap man has nicked it and weighed it in (after all it looked abandoned)

but then again, although its rough its perhaps still worth a few quid and probably somebodies base for a future project

Not up to the council to remove a car from someones private property as it was on a driveway when it was taken

Some councils do If it's deemed a health risk, although driveways are a bit different. In the pics it looked like it was dumped at the side of the road which is why I asked. Anyway, hope it turns up somewhere.

councils don't only lift cars

I think its same in UK if some one reports it to EPA

they can lift it also as they say u need a scrap or recycling license to have scrap on your property

I could be wrong but I know of 2 x jags that were sent for scrap in Dublin because owner had no waste licence

At which point do you differentiate project car & scrap? Who's decision is to say it's scrap aside from the owner?

A good point, somebody elses opinion of my resto project may be that it is scrap (thats the way my other half sees it anyway)

I know this exact car and the exact place it sat even to the point i know what else was lying about his property. I live no where near him but im gutted to see it has been stolen by some scum. I came across this about a year and a half ago when taking a back road from a dualer to a place called kinross. Wont go into more details because you dont know who reads these. I knocked on his door back then to offer to buy this or atleast find out more about it but got no response and ive always meant to go back down again but never had time bearing in mind its a 150 mile trip both ways. Didnt have a proper look over it then as didn't want to look like i was showing the wrong attention and didnt want to hang about his private property but in all honesty this was right on the road side just behind a small wall with only that weeds hiding it. It would have been sensible for him to have it down at the rear of his property as there was more than enough space for it to be hidden down there. I hope this has been found and rescued by now and not met the wall of Cowdenbeath or surrounding banger tracks like many cars that way do

Where was it stolen from? Saline or Kinross as the original post the info was very vague! or neither of these? Tried asking the owner but didn't get a response.

PM me if you don't want it made public as I live very local to the area it was stolen from.

Chances are pikeys had it away for scrap
