I couldn't understand how they did it as I'm sure it was locked last night and still locked this morning when I went to work. My brother has just told me that a Ford 'skeleton' key is readily available to buy and will get into any new Ford. Fookers! !!! I'm fuming.........and power tool - less! !!!

Mind you ill probably let them know just in case they do happen to catch the little Fookers before they sell my stuff. It's a bit strange though that my van hasn't been done before and I've just bought a new 6 piece 18v Makita set only 2 weeks ago and it gets robbed!!

My buddy has a Mk7 Transit, found it open the other morning with the seat wound right back, luckily nowt missing, however having spoken to the chap at the car alarm place he reckoned they turned up with the skeleton key and an ECU which they plug into the diagnostic port bypassing the PATS system and then nick the whole van, 7K luverly. Best thing is to get a stand alone alarm, means another fob on the ring but better than loosing the whole lot.

Ford and the Vauxhall vans are easy to get into As said a skeleton like key is available for the old round ford keys. A good auto lock smith could probably cut a Ford key by eye from what im told, then again if key and lock are quite worn a few other keys would probably work in the door with some jiggling. At work we had a mobile locksmiiths and with a £1000 kit could get into most cars in under 3mins with out a mark. even with out a lock pick you would be surprised how easy they can be to get into. At work we had two 2010 transit's stolen and when one was recovered wasnt a mark on it or signs of lock or wires being tampered with and was guessed the PATS was overridden. Looked like they had the keys as questions were asked of staff being involved!
DT36 Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 This is bad news Mate. My brother had his plumbers van done over about 2 weeks ago while he was in a house doing a job. Took a Kango hammer from the back that luckily he had on rent with additional theft insurance taken out.

They took my van 5 minutes before I left for work, the thing is the dog heard them as he was looking alert I was on the phone and took no notice as I thought it was the wife parking. Tracker found in Orset 10 miniuts from home.

I had a M3 nicked off my driveway a few months back, they stole it through the OBD scam - would love to catch them.....
