norm1 Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 hi, as above ive just been offered a 1977 capri 1600gl ,ive not seen the car yet looking at it saturday my question is its a 1977 mk2 the guy who owns it has told me its a mk3 bodyshell ?? twin round headlights ect and that the late mk2 had the mk3 stuff fitted as it was the end of the line for the mk2 would this sound rite ?? any thoughts or advice would be great thanks
JP. Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 No. MK3 came in 78.MK3 is basically a mk2 facelift with different front wings, front valance and bonnet. Germany even don't talks about a mk3 but that aside. If its a '77 GL it should have a rounded to the back front valance. and the openings in the bonnet and front wings for the single headlights and indicators. It sounds like you have been offered a re shelled Capri.
