HotRodMatt
Hi all, I know that if your car is taxed it has to be insured but does it still have to have an MoT if kept off the road? One of mine is taxed (historic) and insured until April 2015 but MoT is due soon but it wants a bit of attention which I don't have time for at the mo. Can I let it sit over winter without a test or do I have to Sorn it? Not sure what the current rules are! Cheers Matt
macford
Easiest thing to do is give the tax back and sorn it, That way you don't have to worry
aardvark101
One thing to remember with SORN is that it only lasts 12 months, it is then up to YOU to re SORN the car, they usually send reminders (or not !) if you dont renew it they will cane you for £80.00...trust me, i know
wild pete
That's changed now once its SORNED you do not need to keep doing it every year . it stays SORN now indefinitely until its taxed or change of keeper .
macford
If they had done that sooner someone would be £80 better off. Lol
