Picked one up the week. a toyota yaris 1ltr ! Due to my age the banger rally insurance was at a premiuim in a big engined motor.

Plus the yaris fits well with the little tikes theme, going to paint it like the kids car.

Was offered a mint 1.3L mk4 escort, cheap with full mot and tax but it was so clean i couldnt scrap it at the far end

i know it was only a 1.3L not a model anyone wants but it was just to clean haha.

You did the right thing MKIV Escorts are getting more collectable now and will probably fetch good money in a few years. A Toyota Yaris on the other hand I can't see anyone wanting one of those and if they do there are tons about.

if i had the space i would of bought the escort and kept it. would make a good daily driver lowered on some pepper pots
