wicked !! i was lucky enough to work for a guy not so long ago that sold lotus's from the factory to the public and i used to be paid a good days wages to go in a car with 2 other guys to lotus in norwich. an drive anything he had brought back to ruislip to the showroom!!the quickest i did the journey was in a lotus esprit v8 sport and it took 47 mins .

 

we all used to run out of the car when we got there like school kids and find out what the selection was and if there was a carlton then a fight ensued which i usually won and man they really are a tool!!!

 

this as far as i know this is not public knowledge but the police warned lotus that if anywhere in there advertising they mention that the lotus carlton was capable of 190 mph then they would find a way of making sure it never made it to production!!!!

amagine being a crook in the ninetys and owning a lotus carlton!!

i decided to 'rev' my 1.4 orion at one once at the lights. i was grinning like special needs . the car was fookin amazing. the guy looked at me, smiled, didn't even stress the thing, just took off.

 

i was in awe i love them, i like the shape of the carlton, and the belmont anyway, but i just think they're wicked cars.
