289must Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 Hi ,there seems to be plenty of fiestas & ka out there going cheap with good low mileage 8 valve endura engines. I now there the same Kent block so bolt patterns should fit but what about the shaft size and spicket bearing. Does anybody no or have done this conversation cheers gaz
mr zefect Posted September 29, 2014 Report Posted September 29, 2014 Don't bother there crap nothing like a cross flow.
289must Posted September 29, 2014 Author Report Posted September 29, 2014 They are not as good as a zetec but twice the hb of 997 pre x flow which is what I'm changing, and should fit without chopping up the bulkhead . We've had a few 1.3 ka's with the 8 valve endura engines never had a problem there bullet prof and would be plenty quick enough for an old anglia. I've not seen this convertion but it's not because the engine is crap ford fitted this engine for years and been used in thousands of cars. Gaz
qwerty Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 I've only seen it done on a mk1 Fiesta, which is absolutely no help. Could be a cool little conversion, especially with the efi. Would be reliable and economical and as you say plenty powerful enough for an Anglia.
mr zefect Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 May be it's only the only ones I've worked on they have been gutless and tappety and dont like to rev.
over_head_cam Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 I might be wrong but aren't the fwd Kent based engines lacking in engine mount locations?
mr zefect Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 There hcs engines don't no what the difference is but all the ones I've worked on have been awful.
escortina101 Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Be interesting to hear if its been done. I looked at one the other day & wondered the same
