Bit confused as you seem to be referring to front and rear suspension systems in the same sentence? And not wishing to sound harsh but if you are unsure with that definition, why are you looking at fully adjustable front top mounts which are definitely not required for an 'every day or even occassional track day' type car?

Was going to buy the full set up

its cheaper than getting my 2.8 struts up front re furbed from recent quotes, and cheaper than buying new rear dampers etc.

What exactly are you looking to buy? Front coil overs and rear shocks, or coil overs front and rear?

A wee bit more info would be great before we can give our opinions/advice.

Hi front and back:

http://gazcoilovers.com/ford-escort-mk-12-gaz-coilover-kit-leafspring-p-36.html?zenid=7d3a4io0c5cbnps9k1cu6mvjq2

Rear shocks are goosed, and wanted to get new ones and get my capri 2.8 struts rebuilt, but cant find anyone close or in a resonable price

so Its works out just the same to buy these, if they bolt in and get them set for road use so they arent to harsh

thanks

Don't pay any attention to the photo on the link, the text states telescopic rear dampers not coilovers. If you want to run coilovers on the rear you will need to turret the back mounts and fit slipper springs etc.

you'd be better off looking at converting the fronts yourself, £50 buys the kit, £40 for springs. A wee bit grinding and welding and it's job done.

£150 will buy a pair of AVO adjustable rears or less than £100 for Spax.

The kit you mentioned is pretty much bolt in, direct replacement - but NOT rear coil overs.

Those top mounts are good but for road use they are harsh, you'll feel all the bumps and tiny stones in the road, on a smooth track there excellent, i would suggest a set of rubber roller bearing top mounts!

Will the rubber bearing top mounts be a straight swap?Cheers

Going to go with the adjustable shocks at back avo or spax as bigbubba said.

I've found someone who will covert my 2.8 struts to coil overs

Currently they are using -2inch lowering springs I think and 2 inc lowering blocks at back.

My question is what springs would be best for the front converted to coilovers with the heavy pinto up front?

Thanks

Any advice is good even, still learning so I don't mind blunt straight to the point answers which will benefit me :) thanks

If it's for road use stick to 180 to 200lb maximum, length depends on ride height, wheel size etc but on 13s 12" will be a good starting point I think.

For the rear, see if you can pick up a good used set of mk2 Bilsteins (not sure if they fit a mk1), they're still great fast road shocks and you can get them for much cheapness. I just sold a good pair for £26 !!!!!!
