taking the father inlaw he loves his 50's and 60;s classic's trying too educate him in the Retro cars triumphs fords Vauxhalls etc, but because he had them from new as family daily drivers he doesn't see them in the same light as myself. allways wanting too drive my dads hire car on the way too Barmouth on holiday in the boot of a Granada or Cortina estate or crammed in the back of a mk2 escort but there again good lines of an e type or the querky frog eye sprite is always worth a look

Me and my brother are going on Sunday.

Not been for a couple of years so looking forward to it, always a good show with plenty to see.

Next year will just be going to this and I'll give ford fair and classic ford a miss as I've just got bored of them.

Sure I understand....but to see a modern Ford I can nip down the road to the local dealer. Or even just swing by Tescos, the car park has usually got plenty of them!

 

What I definitely don't need to do is drive 250 miles each way and pay an entry fee to see them.

no I don't think you do ,this is not just for your thoughts I hope you understand other people like new fords,i know you and mike don't like new cars that's your choice I like all fords new and old.anyways im moving to your town if theres loads of rs cosworths and focus cars in the supermarket carpark lol

I spent virtually the whole day at Ford Fair on our club stand, I left once to use the bog and once to buy some Lunch. What gave you the impression I was enjoying old AND new Fords? With one or two exceptions (Allegro & 2CV for instance) I enjoy all classic cars as I appreciate the work that goes into keeping them and the pride that the respective owners have in them.

 

That said, I do also like most modern Fords. They are good cost effective transport for the masses and some of them handle and perform very well. But, none of them are rare and I know that if I don't see one of the sporty models today, there's still a fair to good chance that I will see one tomorrow. Ergo I won't spend time or money going to a show to see them. Plus, where's the challenge in buying a new or nearly new Focus RS or Fiesta / Focus ST on a Wednesday, then driving to a show via a car wash on the Saturday / Sunday?

well cracking day out met edd china and found some good contacts, loads of mk1 escorts mk 2 lotus cortinas they had an rs stand classic fiesta's  but no mk 3, 4, 5 cortinas bit gutted too be honest but all in all a good day will be going again

Only thing annoys me is paying £10 parking as well as a ticket lol

£12 standing room on the train but loads there mate struggled too get it all in the day must of misted loads great day out

Yeah more places are catching onto that now not just shows. Maybe I'll take the trip next year if I'm available
